Job search magic's for job seekers

So you wonder what’s going on behind the scenes?

While we continue censusing the companies who hire at-home workers, we are kick starting a new research: we aim to interview those who “did it”.

Did what? Well, making a living by doing what they love for example, inventing a career which did not exist before, it can be anything: at the very end of the story, the definition of success is up to anyone answering our appeal.

So, if you feel successful and want to share your experience with us, we would like to hear from you.

Drop us a line, if you wish.

Our main focus is Europe and work-from-home but we are happy to hear from those who travel the world wherever they originates from.

Our new logo has arrived. Still in need of some polishing.

I finally received a reply from Convergys too. Well, “reply” is a big word as their message does not reply neither to my original query (“can you recommend companies who accept..” etc.), nor to my notification of being able to enter my account without a password, nor to their missed promise of replying by 24 hours.

Even if the no-password-entry-granted has been apparently fixed in the meanwhile, a “we know it, we had problems/were maintaining/etc” would have been nice to receive from them.

But, this is their non-answer.

Thank you for your interest in Convergys’ Remote Agent program. At this time we are limiting the scope of our program to selected/certain states and country.  We will continue to review locations for future rollouts.

Please also note that they do not specify which states and countries they scope their program at this time. What about my request of knowing companies they can recommend/not?

Well no urther comments are worth it. Keep you posted.

Another record reply. Surprisingly, they have also accepted applications from Canada and UK…

Uhm, I am now afraid they offer commission only opportunities but I cannot say as they do not specify it on their website.

It is worth it investigate further…replied them, keep you posted.

Expert Business Development does not specify any nationality, however, their application form asks you to enter a state.

Also, this time you can address your query to a real name and surname person at their HR department.

Keep you posted.

UPDATE: record reply from them too (not from the HR person indicated into their website). See this post for details.

This is the first company which excludes the USA: Advanis.

The hire independent contractors living in Canada for phone interviews to Canada and the USA.

Just native English speakers at Call Center International and just those resident in USA or Canada.

In addition this is a commission-only job and a Internet Explorer only enrollment….sigh…

I have written them asking for recommendations, as normal. Let’s see.

Both positions are for independent contractors.

To what concern the Live Operator roles, it is clear that Voicelog expects you to live in the USA:

Do I have to live in the United States to be a Live Operator?

Yes, you have to live in the United States to be a Live Operator. We are not currently accepting applications from anyone living outside of the United States.

I am not sure what entails being a verification agent, instead as there is not FAQ page for this. However, their application page expects you to enter a USA state…uhm…

If you wonder what a verification agent is, Voicelog explains:

As a Verification Agent, you will listen to recordings of sales calls to determine if the sale is valid or if there is evidence of sales fraud or undue customer confusion.

The Needed languages are: Arabic, Armenian, Bosnian, Cantonese, Chinese, Farsi, German, Indonesian, Korean, Mandarin, Persian, Polish, Somalia, Russian,Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese or Yugoslavian

Anyhow, I have written them asking  confirmation of the above and if they can recommend me to any other company which hires outside the USA (as usual) and await for their reply.

This is very weird: as  in their autoreply, Convergys (similarly to West at home) gave me a reference number and a link to access my account and my question online, I went to the login page and – first surprise – the login is granted (2nd time I click on the login button) without asking for a password!

Gosh are they respecting privacy…not!

That’s not all: my question is not there; my account contains nothing.

I have also noted they have changed some pages on the website and now you can also contact them via a normal webform (without having to create an account). Which I did.

I also notified them about the being able to login without a password.

Dear Convergys, what about (next time) testing your system before putting it online?

Also in this case, impressive customer care software system for a company which makes customer care as its business.

Yes, they replied in record time, a few hours after my inquiry…..unfortunately just to confirm they hire in the USA only and they are unable to provide me with other referral as I feared.

Please note that at today (3 days after my inquiries) this is the sole reply I got! Well, not a good customer service for companies which have customer care as they core business!
